In October of 2023 the Edgerton School District concluded their expense analysis when compared to the bordering school districts of Cambridge, Evansville, Fort Atkinson, Milton and Stoughton. As part of the operational referendum assessment, the District evaluated expenditures under three categories they feel are most important in understanding organizational vulnerabilities that interact with the revenue imbalance when compared to the bordering school districts.  The three categories evaluated were as follows:
