A big focus of our Elementary School is to develop students' foundational reading skills. Your support is invaluable and practicing with your child is a great way to improve their skills.  First and foremost, the time you spend practicing reading skills should be low stress for both you and your child. Our students work hard at school and learning to read can be challenging. Home practice is an opportunity for students to show off what they are learning at school and to help them become more confident in their skills. As they learn new phonics skills, students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will be coming home with two practice tasks:

1. Home Practice Sheet (see video below)

2. Decodable Passage

The video on this page explains more about a way to use the Home Practice sheet.  Reading to your child, or listening to them read to you, are always encouraged.
